The Zellerbach Family Foundation is pleased to welcome Ravi Karra to its board of directors.
Mr. Karra brings over four decades of experience navigating some of the most volatile and complicated markets on record. Most recently Ravi worked at Cambridge Associates, a leading investment advisory firm, where he served as Chief Investment Officer and Investment Advisor for a number of endowments, foundations, family groups and pension funds. During his 26 years, Ravi helped establish the firm’s presence on the West Coast and fostered some of the firm’s largest comprehensive relationships.
Prior to his time at Cambridge, Ravi spent nearly six years at Cornerstone Research where he conceptualized, managed and executed complex financial analyses on several high-profile assignments covering antitrust, intellectual property, securities and general business cases. Ravi also served as Treasurer and Trustee of Channing House and as a Trustee of the Gunn Foundation in Palo Alto.
Ravi graduated in electronics engineering from Bangalore University, and attended the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad where he received a diploma in management. In the United States, Ravi earned a master’s degree in accounting science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and spent four years at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business where he was a PhD candidate and received an MBA.
In addition to his expertise and experience in investment management and strategy Ravi brings a deep level of thoughtfulness, wisdom, and care that will support ZFF’s efforts to navigate this unprecedented moment.
